Religion and ethics

NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.

A Special Religious  Education (SRE) program is available at Bardwell Park Infants School and is run by authorised volunteers of approved religious persuasions.

Alternatively, parents may choose for their child not to attend SRE classes. Parents may choose for their child/children in Stage One to attend Special Education in Ethics (SEE) or engage in alternative meaningful activities.

At our school, the SRE/ SEE programs are delivered on Wednesdays from 9.30am -10.00. During this time, there will be no academic instruction delivered or formal school actitivites.

Special Religious Education (SRE) options currently available:

Greek Orthodox

Catholic

If you do not want your child to attend SRE there is currently available:

Special Education in Ethics (SEE) Stage One only

Alternative meaningful activities

During the year, notification of changes to a child's enrolment in SRE classes should be provided to the office in writing.

During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.

You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.
